Outpatient Services

Adult Mental Health Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

Partial Hospitalization (PHP) is provided in an outpatient setting and is designed to increase and maintain therapeutic gains made in inpatient. Patients with a primary psychiatric diagnosis who require intensive support and structure, but not 24-hour supervision may be enrolled directly into our PHP program or may be “stepped down” from the inpatient level of care. A physician-led team of mental health professionals provides customized therapy with the goal of achieving continued stabilization of an acute or chronic condition or behavior. Programming includes psycho-educational, process and medication management groups. Nursing intervention is also provided as well as routine treatment supervision by a psychiatrist.

Advantages of PHP:

  • Patient continues to live at home while attending a day program.
  • Weekly psychiatric oversight and supervision
  • Nursing interventions
  • Multi-disciplinary treatment team
  • Stabilization and management of a condition
  • Hospital stays may be shortened by “step down” to PHP
  • Structured alternative to hospitalization

Adult Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

IOP is more intensive than traditional one-on-one outpatient therapy and is designed to provide structured psychiatric treatment and support to those who have previously struggled with sustaining therapeutic gains. Similar to Partial Hospitalization, patients participate in psycho-educational, process, and medication management groups for one to three days per week. The treatment team is made up of supportive doctors, therapists, nurses and program specialists who care about your mental well-being.

Advantages of IOP:

  • Sessions may be conducted while the individual continues to go to work or school.
  • Patient continues to live at home while attending a day program.
  • Weekly psychiatric oversight and supervision.
  • Nursing interventions.
  • Multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • Continued stabilization and management of a condition
  • Patient attends program one to three days per week
